Eye Saints Community Boules Club
Constitution (2026)
- Name: Eyes Saints Community Boules Club.
- Objectives: The objectives of the club are to promote the French game of boules or pétanque in the town of Eye and surrounding villages, encouraging social, mental and physical wellbeing through the provision of playing facilities and coaching support. We support those who choose to play for our teams representing Eye Pétanque across Suffolk. Most of all our objective is to provide fun for all.
- Membership: Membership shall be open to anyone who wishes to join the club, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, race or physical ability. We are a fully inclusive club.
- Officers: These to consist of a Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Club Captain.
- Committee: The management of the club shall be vested in a Committee to be elected annually at the AGM, consisting of the Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer, Club Captain and one other club member. In the event of a resignation within the year the Committee will call for a replacement Committee member ,and the Committee will nominate and second the replacement member to cover until the next AGM.
- Specialities:The Committee shall have the power to co-opt additional members as necessary to assist the Committee.
- Finance: The Treasurer shall be responsible for reporting on the financial situation of the Club to the committee and a statement of the accounts shall be present annually at the AGM.
- The club finances will be used only for the betterment of club including:
- The Treasurer is entrusted to maintain the club bank account. All expenses and additional funds must go through the Treasurer with Committee approval.
- Subscriptions: Members shall pay an annual subscription at an amount agreed at the AGM.
- AGM: The Annual General Meeting shall be held In March each year and due notice sent to all members 14 days before the date of the meeting. Any ideas for the benefit of club will be most welcome and considered with respect.
- Extraordinary meeting: May be called by the Committee or at the request of four Club members.
- Quorum: Any three Committee members shall form the quorum for a committee meeting
- Alteration of Rules: The Constitution shall only be altered at an AGM.
