On Saturday, 8 August, four club members entered the Pairs Tournament held annually at the Eel’s Foot Inn, Eastbridge.
Eira and Mary qualified through to the Silver Semi Finals. A really good achievement especially as it was the first time Mary had entered such a tournament.
Darren and Gill made it into the seedings for the Gold Playoffs. Again, quite an achievement after four years of trying. In their final match, when the bell went, the score was 9-9 with one end to go. Darren’s final ball landed about 1cm short of a win. A disappointment but they were pleased with their overall play.
As always, it was a very enjoyable day with great weather and good company.
