Eye Saints played their final match of the summer season at home
against Ashe Diebacks. We needed to win just one game to make it impossible for any other team in our division to overtake us at the top.
Darren and Gill made a shaky start and lost 2-13. Their worst result all season!
Eira and Tom won their game 13-6, securing our place as winners of Division 5.
Eira, Tom and Gill won the triples game 13-1
Darren sadly lost the singles 3-13.
Overall the 2-2 draw means that we have ended the season with 27 points, unbeaten, having played ten matches, won five and drawn five.
This means that next season we will be promoted to the Fourth Division and also that we will be presented with a winners’ cup when this season ends.
We are all delighted with the result and congratulate the whole team, consisting of
Eira, Tom, Darren, Rob, Gill (and Mary reserve) all of whom have contributed to the great result.
